Zandari Festa takes place at live venues across Hongdae from Oct. 4–7 and will feature nearly 110 bands from 17 different countries including Sheep Got Waxed. Hailing from Lithuania, the trio play an awesome mix of experimental electronica and jazz that is sure to turn some heads during the festival.
We spoke with saxophonist Simonas Šipavičius ahead of the group’s showcase on Oct. 7 at Rolling Hall.
For those unfamiliar with Sheep Got Waxed, how would you describe your sound?
We sound like the screams of a sheep getting waxed.
What made you want to be a part of Zandari Festa 2018?
Our manager forced us. And without a doubt, we said yes!
There are lots of talented acts from all of the world playing at Zandari Festa. Why should fest-goers come and see Sheep Got Waxed?
We’re going to make a competition between Sheep Got Waxed and the audience. The prize is priceless! It is really fun. Really. Trust me, you have to be there.
Tell us something about Sheep Got Waxed that would probably surprise most people.
Under our clothes we’re naked.
Aside from performing, what else do you hope to do while you’re in Seoul?
We hope to find the best kebab place in Seoul. Anyone have any suggestions?
