Estonian band to tour four countries in Asia
Attesting to their undying love of Asia, Estonian band I Wear* Experiment is set to return to
Korea, this time as one leg of a larger Asia tour.
The band said they are overwhelmed by the tour. What started as just a few dates has now
grown into a nearly month-long tour through Korea, China, Japan and Malaysia, with things
set to kick off in Seoul on Friday.
“It’s our third time back in Korea and we have really fallen in love with the people and the
country – so we are eagerly waiting to be back again. We’ve never been to China and
Malaysia, so with these concerts there is a lot of excitement how the people will react,” the
The tour came together in large part to the tireless efforts of their management Smallfish
Agency, DoIndie Korea and Leeway Agency. They have worked for months to put it together
and I Wear* Experiment said they are very grateful for their support.
The band has been distributed since April by Leeway Agency, which has made their album
available on various music platforms in Korea such as Bugs, Melon, Mnet and KT (Olleh).
The band said they plan to do some radio shows here in Korea, outside of performing in
concert, as well as see as much of the city as they can.
“It’s weird, but we’ve never been to the Gangnam area so I guess we must go there too,” the
band joked. Outside that, they hope to check out the food scene, cool markets and a
monastery in the mountains.
The group last performed in South Korea in January and since then, they’ve been busy –
setting up a new studio, which they say will hopefully make it easier and more efficient to
create new music. They also have toured Europe.
“Besides touring and building a studio, we’ve been making many new songs and
collaborating with different Estonian and international artists – the result will be (hopefully)
released in the beginning of next year,” they said.
As to what fans can expect this time around? The band is promoting their latest album
“Patience” which came out a few months ago in Korea, as well as songs from their debut
album. They are bringing along merch in the form of t-shirts created with the help of some
“cool designers” and Dickies – among them a special Korea edition t-shirt.
They also plan to showcase a few new songs.
The first show is set to take place on Sept. 1 at Club FF in Seoul, then again on Sept. 2 in
Busan at Revel Club. After that, they will move to Japan with stops in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka
and Kyoto. Following Japan are four stops in China in Beijing, Tianjin, Zhengzhou and Hong
Kong, with the last show of the tour to take place in Kuala Lampur in Malaysia on Sept. 21.
