Neon Milk, Seoul’s premier drag show, is back and bringing in yet another diva from RuPaul’s Drag Race this month – season 7 winner Violet Chachki.
Violet – a drag queen, singer, model and burlesque dancer – wowed the judges and fans of the show alike with her polished looks, jaw-dropping fashion and focus on aesthetics. She managed to make it all the way to the finale without falling into that bottom two, one of just a handful of the show’s contestants to have done so.
Since being named Drag’s Next Superstar in 2014, Violet went on to release the EP “Gagged” in 2015. Earlier this year, it was announced that she would be part of the cast in legendary burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese’s show “The Art of the Teese” in Chicago, Dallas and Houston.
Neon Milk is organized by DINNERSREADY, a new promotion label dedicated to all different types of events including live concerts, DJ sets, fashion events and parties and other various forms of art and entertainment, according to the company’s website. Yunho Jo, the company’s founder, previously managed the successful LGBT party brand “MAD BAMBI.”
Neon Milk with Violet Chachki will take place on May 13 at Rolling Hall in Hongdae, upgrading to a larger venue. On the lineup besides Violet Chachki are Seoul’s finest queens – Kuciia Diamant, Vita Mikju, Kyam, Bori, Vanessica Carver and Nikki Ashes.
Tickets are 30,000 won in advance on the show’s website and 40,000 won at the door. The show starts at 11 p.m. and a full timetable will be released at a later date. No minors allowed.
