It’s Funky Funky time

You’ll never leave Club FF in Hongdae disappointed. Come out for great music and cheap booze. Oh, did we mention FREE booze? From 11 pm to midnight their Happy Hour is truly happy: Free unlimited drinks. Live music from 730 to 1 am includes Peacock Green, Coreyah, The Blocs, HLIN, Unside, Hologram Film, Space Papa, The Lads.

Cooperatives market

Thee’s nothing colourful about this weekend’s largest festival in Seoul, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth visiting. “Cooperatives Nanjang Hanmadang” takes place in and around Seoul Plaza. The event is hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

You will be able to buy products from over 500 cooperatives, social and village enterprises at low prices during the festival, as well as get a glimpse of Mayor Park Won-soon on Saturday.

Awesome music, good cause

Join the bands Magna Fall and Used Cassettes and the hip-hop artists Sammy Clay and Jesse Day at Naru Arts Center and help an orphanage in South Africa. The event is aptly titled “Mannam blossoms hope in South Africa” and it’s being organized by the Mannam Volunteer Association.

Another good cause — Justice for North Korea

Come to the 2nd Annual Birthday Fundraiser benefiting Justice for North Korea’s concert in Itaewon. Live hip-hop, R&B and reggae performances will be held, as well as spinning by  Dj Marlie from New York.

Classical music

This will interest fans of classical music: the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra 12 Cellists will perform in Daegu.

Silva vs. Sonnen II

The event of the weekend: One of the most anticipated fights in UFC history: Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen, part II, otherwise known as Silva vs. Sonnen II. These guys pretty much hate each other’s guts. Come out and watch them kick each other’s asses. As for where to watch the fight, have you been to Daejon lately? Neither have I. Head down there and watch at Daejeon Cantina. Locations in Seoul will be added as they become available.
